  • The Frontenac Raider freshman team won their home tourney Monday with victories over Cherryvale and Southeast.
    In the first game of the night, Frontenac won 54-33, led by Ryan Menghini with 21 points. Colin Coronado added 10.
    In the championship game, Frontenac defeated Southeast by a score of 61-38. Frontenac was led by 19 points by Menghini. Carlos Herrera added 16 and Terry Young had 11. Colton Paasch led Southeast with 14 points.
    In the first game, Southeast beat Galena by a score of 32-25. Southeast was led by Paasch with 16 points. Chandler Jackson added eight. Galena was led by Tygart Jackson and his eight points.
    Middle school/junior high BKB
    The Girard Middle School girls swept Riverton on Monday night, winning the eighth grade contest 39-14 and the seventh grade contest 15-9.
    Ashley Ray led the eighth grade with 14 points, Olivia Hanson added 10 and Calea Augustin had nine. Shelby Edwards led Riverton with six.
    Jacey Murphy led the Girard seventh graders with nine points and Shaylun Grosstephan added six.
    The St. Mary’s Junior High boys won three of four games from Frontenac on Monday night.
    In the 8A contest, Alex Brown led St. Mary’s with 11 points and his most important points came on his game-winning 3-point shot, breaking a 28-28 score late in the game. Zach Hizey added eight. Ryan Long paced Frontenac with a game-high 12 points.
    St. Mary’s won the 8B game 41-24; Isaac Bicknell led St. Mary’s with 14.
    Frontenac won the 7A contest 24-21 behind 14 points from Broc Ginavan and Bradley Beykirch led St. Mary’s with eight. St. Mary’s won the 7B game 24-19.
