Jacquelyn Joyce Jackson Kleinke Tonn was born July 10, 1924 in Hanford, California.  She died quietly, surrounded by family, July 30, 2009.

Jackie was the only child of Evelyn L. Bressler and Oscar M. Jackson.  She attended California schools.  Following her graduation from Fort Bragg High School, she enrolled at San Jose State College where she majored in music.  She left college during World War II to teach elementary school.  In November 1944, Jackie married Walter S. Kleinke; he preceded her in death.  She married Charles L. Tonn in February 1994.  He survives.
Jackie was an accomplished musician.  For a time she taught piano lessons.  She was the church organist and choir director at Farlington United Methodist Church for many years.  As a member of the Farlington Church, she enthusiastically participated in its activities, including Ladies Aid, United Methodist Women, Sunday School, and the Administrative Board.
In addition to Charlie, survivors are Jackie’s children, Janice and Terry Nienhouse, Melinda Jo and Calvin Humble, grandchildren, Joey Lynne and Stacey Fager, Michelle and Scott Goff, Kristina and Richard Morando, great grandchildren, Ethan Goff, Alexandra, Samuel, Jacquelyn, and Benjamin Fager, numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
Jackie put her faith and her family above all.  A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the United Methodist Church in Farlington with the Reverend Steve Cole officiating.  Burial will be in the Farlington Cemetery.  Friends may call after 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsburg or the United Methodist Church in Farlington.  These may be left at the churches or the Smith-Carson-Wall funeral Home, 518 W. St. John, Box 258, Girard, Kansas  66743.
