At 10 p.m., Thursday, Crawford County Deputies were dispatched to 3/4 miles west of K7 Highway, on 730th Ave., in reference to a motor home on fire in the middle of the road.
Deputies arrived at 10:09 p.m. and observed the motor home fully engulfed in flames. Sherman Township, and Bourbon County Rural Fire Departments were also dispatched to the scene. After the fire was extinguished, deputies were able to find the license plate from the vehicle. The license plate determined that the 1980 custom Ford motor home belonged to Ramiro Rosete, from Girard.
A Girard officer was then dispatched to make contact with the owner. Mr. Rosete was contacted and advised the Girard officer that he had left the RV at Farlington Lake in a campsite earlier that day. After further investigation, it was determined that an unknown person or persons stole the RV, drove it to 3/4 miles west of K7 Highway, on 730th Ave., and then burned it at that location.
Anyone with any information on this incident is encourage to contact the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department at (620)724-8274.
