  •  The Northeast Viking boys turned a 22-16 halftime score into a 62-39 win Friday night over Uniontown in a Three Rivers League contest.
    Northeast sophomore guard Antonio Slingluff played a major role in the 23-point victory as he poured in a game-high 25 points and the streaky shooter caught hold of a great shooting night with seven 3-point goals.
    Dennis Hensley and Noah Popejoy gave the Vikings three scorers in double figures, Hensley with 18 and Popejoy 11.
    The Vikings improved to 7-12 overall, 3-5 in the TRL and close out their regular season Tuesday night against winless Altoona-Midway.
    In the girls contest Friday night between Northeast and Uniontown, the Eagles defended their home floor with a 54-18 victory.
    The Jayhawk-Linn girls clinched a league title with a 41-8 win over Crest on Thursday and a 56-3 win over Altoona-Midway on Friday. Over a 24-hour period, the Jayhawks won two games by a combined score of 97-11. Jayhawk-Linn improved to 12-6, 9-0 TRL.
    On the boys side of the TRL, St. Paul (13-5, 7-0) and Crest (13-5, 7-1) have their sights lined up on a league title. St. Paul hosts Chetopa (12-6, 5-2) on Tuesday for a game which will play a central role in deciding the league title.
