  • Billie Lou Craddock 82, of Asbury, MO died 10:10am Thursday March 7, 2013 at the McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, MO following an illness.  
    Billie Lou was born August 8, 1930 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of William and Myrtle (Hicks) Beard.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Pittsburg High School.  She later attended Kansas Teacher’s College in Pittsburg, KS.  
    In the spring of 1949 Billie Lou married John R. Craddock in Pittsburg, KS.  
    Billie Lou worked as a Phone Operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone; owned and operated her own gas station/liquor store and in her later years owned an operated her own dog kennel raising small breed dogs including English and French Bulldogs.  In her younger years she enjoyed fishing and family was the most important thing in her life.  Billie Lou was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church.  
    Survivors include her children Nikki Burnside of Oronogo, MO and Mark Craddock of Artesia, NM; grandchildren Kelly Jones and husband Steven, Rachael Lingnau and husband Michael and Ryan Craddock; great-grandchildren Nate Jones and Nick Jones.
     
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Iva Mae Stephens and a grandson Michael John Craddock.  
    Funeral Services will be 11am Thursday March 14, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Rev. Phillip Alabaugh officiating.  
    After services Billie Lou will be taken for cremation and private burial rights will take place at later date at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS.  Family will receive friends from 6-7pm Wednesday March 13, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 12pm Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Heartland Pet Breeders Association.  Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.
