Margy “Marjorie” Hopper, 80, of Franklin died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, December 24, 2010, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.

Margy “Marjorie” Hopper, 80, of Franklin died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, December 24, 2010, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.

Mrs. Hopper was born August 8, 1930, at Altoona, Pa., the daughter of Theodore Robert and Marguerite E. Bathurst McKee. Marjorie was a homemaker who was raised in Altoona, Pa., and graduated from Hollidaysburg, Pa., High School. She lived in Miami, Okla., before moving to the Arma-Franklin area, where she lived for 45 years. Marjorie also managed the Pack-Rat in Pittsburg. She married Nathaniel Hopper on December 22, 1947, at Jefferson Parish, New Orleans. Mr. Hopper preceded her in death June 19, 2006. Survivors include one daughter, Lesa Arnold of Pittsburg; one son, Dan Hopper and his wife Renee of Sikeston, Mo.; two sisters, Annie McMaster and Gloria Dick, both of Altoona, Pa.; six brothers, Jim McKee of Altoona, Pa., Jerry McKee of Lancaster, Pa., Lee McKee of Florida, Jack McKee of Ohio, and Barry and Ed McKee, both of Altoona, Pa.; six grandchildren, Matt Hopper, Reed Hopper, Kristen Hopper, Nathan Arnold, Ashley Hopper, and Cassidy Arnold; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bob McKee; and a sister, Rene Deyarmin.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at the Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, Okla., with the Rev. James Schneckenberg officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712.
