  • A 15-year-old Fort Scott girl was killed in a one-car accident late Tuesday night.
Parker Lea McKenney was driving on 240th Street at Kansas Avenue (roughly two miles east of U.S. Highway 69) around 10 p.m. The road curved to the east and McKenney was unable to keep control of the vehicle, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The vehicle then entered the ditch and rolled several times.
McKenney was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car.
Passengers Kelsey Michelle Middleton, 15, Fort Scott, and Alec Esteban Ramirez, 18, Fort Scott, were also injured in the accident. Middleton was the only one wearing a seat belt.
All three were taken to Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, where McKenney was declared dead at 11:04 p.m.
