Veterans Representative

The Veterans Representative will be at the Homer Cole Community Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Anyone with issues or questions pertaining to veterans’ benefits is welcome.


P.E.O. Chapter AQ

The group will meet at noon at the home of Kim Scripsick. Co-hostesses will be Shirley Thomas, Cindy Loy, Cheryle Moore, and Linda Niederklein. The program, "TEAMing Up For Our Community: P3", will be given by Dawn McNay and Krista Smith.


Arma American Legion Bingo

Arma American Legion will host bingo open to the public starting with early bird games at 6:30 p.m. Regular games to follow.


Sunflower Kiwanis

The Sunflower Kiwanis will meet for their weekly meeting at 6:45 a.m. for breakfast in dePaul Hall at Via Christi Hospital.


Chapter CP, PEO

Chapter CP, PEO will meet at 10 a.m., 4 p.m., or 6 p.m. (Look at sheet) at (address, look at sheet) as hostess.


P.E.O Chapter IO

The chapter will meet 1 p.m. at Dee Ann Felter's home at 1802 S. College St. Elizabeth Brill and Ellen Cobb will be hostesses. The program will be Shawn Naccarrato “What's in store for the Kansas Legislature and How it will affect SEK.”


Wednesday, Jan. 13

Chicopee cards

The Chicopee Card Games will meet from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Chicopee community center.


Elk's Lodge Bingo

Bingo will be held at the Elk's Lodge, 2312 W. 4th in Pittsburg, starting at 6:15 with mini games. It will be followed by regular games at 6:30. Super progressive and blackout progressive will be played and Bingo event tickets and pull tabs also are available.


Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers meets every Wednesday at 11th and Joplin streets. Doors open for weigh-in at 5 p.m. Meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. with Jana Dalrymple as leader. For more information, visit their Facebook page Weight Watchers - Pittsburg, KS.


Arma Golden Era

The Arma Golden Era Club meets the second Wednesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. at the Golden Era in Arma. All area senior citizens may attend.


Crawford County AARP 646

The Crawford County AARP Chapter 646 meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Homer Cole Community Center on N. Joplin. Our programs are timely and helpful, not only for the members, but for the community. There is coffee and cookies prior to the 9:30 a.m. meeting. The public is always welcome to join us.

Pittsburg Noon Kiwanis

The Pittsburg Noon Kiwanis meets every Thursday at noon in the dePaul Hall at Via Christi Hospital. Johnna Norton, executive director of the Mount Carmel Foundation will give an update about purchases, funds and programs.


Saturday, Jan. 16

PPRD Pageant & Prom event

Pittsburg Parks & Recreation department will be hosting a Pageant & Prom Resale event on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lincoln Center, 710 W. 9th. This event will include pageant, prom, and formal wear for both men and women. This event is free for buyers to attend. Spaces are now available for those interested in selling their formal wear dresses and tuxes along with other formal wear accessories. PPRD will provide and 8 foot rack, table and facility for sellers for $20. Registration is required for sellers; no onsite/day of registration.
