Turkey dinner

St. Michael’s Fall Bazaar will have a turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Adults are $7 and children ages 3 to 12 are $4. Menu is turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry salad, bread and pit. Carryout available.


Italian Heritage Society

The group monthly dinner is this Sunday at 5 p.m. in Chicopee. Members need to bring a side dish to go with hot dogs and chili. For information call Ron Marrone 232-4442.

Zone 6 Garden Club
The club will meet 6 p.m. at the home of Larry and Anna Boler.  The meeting will be a wiener roast around their fire pit and members are asked to bring a roasting stick and a lawn chair.  Kristie Watson-Bell and Betty Paar will provide refreshments.


Co-Dependents Anonymous

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 0975, Girard, meets every Monday at 511 N. Western in Girard, KS. Private weigh-in will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 5:45 p.m. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. A support and motivational program is presented each week to encourage members to reach and maintain weight loss goals. American Legion Post 64

Pittsburg American Legion Post #64 will hold their meeting every third Monday of each month at 7pm. All members are encouraged to attend.


Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, the first Medicare Benefits Enrollment Center in Kansas, will have Benefits Enrollment Counselors available at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 S. Cherokee in Frontenac every second Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to answer questions, review your situation and help determine what other programs for which you may qualify. There is absolutely no cost for the service as the expense is covered by the National Council on Aging. PEO Chapter CJ

The group will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of hostess Corene Stroup, 1301 S. Catalpa. Co-hostesses will be Carol Schultz and Beverly Tustin. The program will be Chapter Book Exchange with Cindy Johnson. All members present are asked to bring a favorite book to describe. Members will have an opportunity to buy their favorite book. Proceeds will benefit the chapter.


Sunflower Kiwanis

The group will meet for breakfast at 6:45 a.m. in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Following breakfast the club will travel and visit Crawford County Health Department for a tour of the facilities.



Arma American Legion will have bingo open to the public with games starting at 6:30 p.m. This week’s blackout pays $400 for 54 numbers. High roller progressive will pay $1,119 this week.


Pittsburg Lions Club

The club will meet 6 p.m. at Via Christi’s Sheridan Room. A special program will be provided be Connie Webber on therapy animals.

Arma Homecoming Committee

The group will have their last monthly meeting for the year 7 p.m. at the Arma City Council. Any community members wanting to get involved in the 2017 homecoming are welcome to attend.


Liberal Ladies Who Lunch

The group will meet noon at Democratic HQ (104 West 6th). Bring your own lunch and any topics you wish to discuss. Any woman interested in progressive issues is welcome to attend.
