FRONTENAC — Jay Hatfield Motorsports is up and running in its new home.

The motorsports dealership moved from the former Sullivan’s building at the corner of Parkview Drive and McKay Street to the former Moore’s Furniture building — approximately one half mile north.

Motorsports General Manager Jeremy Newcomb said the company purchased the Moore’s building in October and began remodeling the entire showroom and service areas.

According to Newcomb, the company moved to have more space.

“We were able to double our showroom space and our warehouse capacity,” he said.

The move to a bigger building also allowed Hatfield to keep nearly all inventory inside. Newcomb said storing ATVs and other products inside not only keeps products safer, but keeps them clean and away from the elements.

“We can run 170 units indoors instead of outside,” he said. “At the Sullivan’s building most of our inventory was outside. Now we can keep everything clean, and provide a climate controlled showroom for customers all year round.”

Newcomb said the dealership was able to purchase the former Moore’s location, upgrading from a lease agreement at the Sullivan’s building. Hatfield opened the new location December 15 after remodelling work was finished.

Newcomb said updates to the outside of the building may come in the future, but for now they are happy with the finished work.
