PITTSBURG — Effective in mid-April the Morning Sun will reduce publication from six days a week to five, Publisher Jamey Honeycutt announced Friday.
Honeycutt said this is a strategic move to enhance the Morning Sun’s Sunday footprint.
“Reducing publication days is never an easy decision,” Honeycutt said. “However, I am convinced this is the right move, both for the newspaper and our readers.”
Managing Editor Patrick Richardson concurred.
“This move will give us an opportunity to strengthen not just the Sunday edition of the Morning Sun — which will see even more excellent, hyper-local content — but the paper as a whole,” he said.
The final Saturday edition of the Morning Sun is tentatively scheduled for April 8, however the same in-depth news coverage readers have become accustomed to will remain available seven days a week at www.morningsun.net.
