Good Friday celebrations, egg hunts and sunrise services are all taking place in Pittsburg and the surrounding area this weekend.

Big Brutus

Big Brutus is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt for children (walking toddlers to 12 years of age) will be at Big Brutus in West Mineral at 3:30 p.m. There is no charge for the event. Sunrise services will take place Easter morning (Sunday) at 6:30 a.m. Bringing lawn chairs is advised.


LifeChangers Church International will host its Good Friday services at 7 p.m. in Pittsburg. Easter services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

FLAG Church

FLAG Church is hosting Easter services at 5 p.m. Saturday, followed by three services on Sunday at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Pittsburg Presbyterian Church

Pittsburg Presbyterian’s Easter celebration will kick off at 9 a.m. Sunday with a contemporary worship service. The Easter egg hunt will begin at 9:40 a.m. followed by brunch and family games including duck races, bean bag toss and more. The traditional worship service will begin at 11 a.m. and the Pitt Pres choir will be joined by the choir from Our Lady of Lourdes for a special performance.

Our Lady of Lourdes

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church will host Easter Mass at 9 a.m. Sunday. The Our Lady of Lourdes choir will be joined by the Pittsburg Presbyterian Church choir at this time for a special performance.

Faith Lutheran Church

Faith Lutheran Church is hosting its annual pancake feed and egg hunt Saturday. The pancake breakfast will begin at 10 a.m. The egg hunt begins at 10:30 a.m.

LifeTrack Church

LifeTrack Church in Frontenac will host two identical Easter services at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday.

American Legion Easter Egg Hunt

Arma American Legion Easter egg hunt will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Arma City Park. If there is rain, the hunt will be at the Arma American Legion.

Pittsburg Free Will Baptist Church

PFWBC is hosting an Easter egg hunt at Pittsburg City Hall Saturday. Children will collected eggs by age group, and the festivities begin at noon.
