PITTSBURG — Douglas County Citizens Committee on Alcoholism Elm Acres will no longer provide transportation services for the Pittsburg community effective June 30.

Grant funding no longer covers the expenses of the program, which provided transportation for the Pittsburg community at a rate of $1 each way.

“We really love Pittsburg,” DCCCA Director of Communication Jen Hethcoat said. “We are really disappointed we will not be able to continue the program.”

DCCCA will continue to offer mental health and substance abuse treatment services, provide a home for youth who are not able to live with their families, and recruitment, training and support for foster families in the Pittsburg community.

 Although the program will no longer be available after June, there are other transportation resources available in Pittsburg. DCCCA provided a list of transportation services for Pittsburg residents.

Via Christi provides transportation to medical appointments and the hospital Via Christ and CHCSEK. Reservations are required for this service, to make a reservation call (620) 232-0388.
Pittsburg Taxi: The taxi service is $7.00 for a one-way ride in Pittsburg call (620)231-1835 to catch a ride.
SEK - CAP: Reservations are required for this service and a $2 donation per ride is requested. To set a reservation call SEK - CAP at (620)724-8204 x 1056.
