A Night to Remember

The Mirza Shrine Temple is hosting a night full of music from the past five decades to raise money for a local family. Doors open at the temple at 8 p.m. BYOB and bring your own snacks. Admission is $10.

The Colonial Fox Theater is showing Toy Story for its Friday Flix. The movie begins at 9 p.m. Bring a lawn chair.


Pittsburg American Legion Bingo

The Pittsburg American Legion will host bingo every Friday at the legion home. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early bird games are at 6:20 p.m. and regular bingo is at 6:30 p.m.

Pittsburg American Legion

The American Legion, 2815 N. Joplin, hosts a noon feed for veterans on the third Saturday of every month. Additionally, an accredited veterans service officer with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 317 and sponsored by American Legion Post 64 Pittsburg will be present beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please call 620-231-2240 to make an appointment.

The Just Off Broadway camp will perform an Elvis-inspired musical at 7 p.m. in Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are $5.


Veterans benefits

The Veterans Service Officer will be available every third Saturday of each month beginning at 9am. All veterans needing assistance with VA benefits are welcome. Call the American Legion at 231-2240 to make an appointment.

The Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host Sunday Dance at the Pittsburg American Legion, 2115 N Joplin. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the dance is from 2-5 p.m.

The peak time to see the solar eclipse at 94 percent totality in Pittsburg will be 1:10 p.m.


American Legion Post 64

Pittsburg American Legion Post #64 will hold their meeting every third Monday of each month at 7pm. All members are encouraged to attend.


The Little Balkans Quilt Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, August 21, 2017, at 7 p.m., at the Presbyterian Church of Pittsburg, at the corner of Sixth and Pine Streets. Jane Bromberg will present a program about binding and other types of edge finishes for quilts. Members should bring their completed embroidery challenges. The business meeting will follow the program.
