PITTSBURG — Real Estate Broker Nichole Hamblin and her team are still putting some finishing touches on their new office, but are ready to open for business next week.

Hamblin moved to Pittsburg two and a half years ago with her husband and began working in real estate, and is now gearing up to open a local office with Kansas City firm ReeceNichols.

“I worked for ReeceNichols when I lived in Kansas City, and then worked in real estate when we moved here,” Hamblin said. “I wanted to expand to my own building to really work with training as well as serving the public.”

Through the office, Hamblin said she is able to offer training to agents provide them the skills to do start to finish transactions with clients. She plans to employ four to five agents, and in the next six months may expand from Pittsburg to the Joplin area.

While offering training to agents, Hamblin also hopes to offer more to the public, including a mobile application and educational efforts.

“We have a really cool mobile app that allows people to find the value of their home, chat with a real estate agent and more,” Hamblin said. “It’s a really unique tool for this area.”

She also plans to bring the staff together for volunteer nights and to offer educational opportunities to the public.

“We want to invite the public in for classes like how to buy a home, or teaching them about staging,” she said. “We want be more involved than just selling people a house.”

Hamblin also plans to build relationships with area homebuilders. She said when building a home, a realtor can benefit the homebuyer, but is sometimes left out of the equation.

Crews began remodeling the space on Locust Street around a month and a half ago. ReeceNichols Sunflower Realty is having a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. November 14, followed by an open house for the public. The office will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. and chili and cinnamon rolls will be available.
