Crossland construction representatives spoke to the board about the facility design of Lakeside Elementary School and Pittsburg Community Middle School. The representatives said these two schools’ projects are over budget, but not over the percentage rate and do not cause any concern about moving forward. They said the number should change as decisions are made to lower the cost — this is part of the process, they said.

The board announced newly elected board members from the school district election. Amber Madl, B.J. Harris and Mickey Painter who had the third most votes from the write in.

The Cross Country Coach and The Girls’ Golf Coach brought in their students to meet the board to share about their athletic and academic achievements.

Meadowlark Principal Becky Bedene and several teachers spoke to the board about “Leader In Me,” a program which helps give students life skills. The teachers will be continuing their book study and will be applying more and more of the concepts of this program as they learn more.

Pittsburg USD 250 Public Information Director Zach Fletcher discussed changes soon to come to the district’s website and mobile application. It has been approximately four years since the current website was created. Fletcher said he plans to remove some of the layers within the website and make things easier to find. He said it should be complete by the beginning of the next calendar year.
