PITTSBURG — The owners consider it Asian fine dining.
Pittsburg now is the home of Tokyo Japanese Hibachi Grill & Sushi bar.
The restaurant, which opened in February, is owned by Lee Zhang who has several others including Junction City and in Oklahoma. Zhang has been in business for 20 years and brought the restaurant to the area so the community can experience Asian fine dining.
The Tokyo Japanese Hibachi Grill & Sushi bar in Joplin is does not have any connection to the one in Pittsburg.
The menu includes various Japanese cuisine, Front Manager Sheri White said.
“It’s a nice way to experience Japanese cuisine.”
There are 37 types of sushi rolls, bento boxes, love boat, Japanese sodas, fried ice cream and hibachi grilled food. The hibachi food is grilled in the back and served to the customers.
Since it opened, the customer favorites have been crab rangoons and gyoza, Japanese pan-fried dumplings, White said.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., 4:30 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
