PITTSBURG — Fall is here and winter is approaching, which means it’s getting quite cold out.

Pitt Chapel collected 4,000 blankets for people in need, through Operation Compassion.

“We invite any group that could use them and distribute them to come get the blankets,” Pastor Mark Smithson said.

On Friday, a whole truckload of soft biodegradable blankets from Texas were dropped off at Creel Enterprises at 6th and Locust, where from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday agencies can pick up the blankets to distribute to people in need.

Another date for individuals in need will be announced at a later date.

Organizations can contact Kim Scott at 417-310-3242 to coordinate a pick-up for the blankets.
