PITTSBURG — Goodwill will have its grand opening in February.
Located at 2412 N. Broadway, Pittsburg, MOKAN Goodwill, based in Kansas City, Missouri, will host a grand opening with a ribbon cutting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21 with the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce. The public is invited to attend.
Goodwill is a nonprofit organization which “supports individualized programs and services that empower job seekers with different abilities to enter the workforce,” a release from the chamber said. “Goodwill is a leader in sustainability, annually diverting 15 million pounds of computers, paper, clothing and textiles from area landfills, recovering the value through resale and recycle.”
Construction for the building began in 2013 and was put on hold for unknown reasons, a decision made internally by Goodwill, the City of Pittsburg said.
The Morning Sun is waiting for a response from Goodwill.
The store will open at 9 a.m. following the ribbon cutting.
The store’s hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
