PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg Purple Dragons were swept by visiting Basehor-Linwood on Tuesday. The boys’ team fell 83-56 to the Bobcats and Pittsburg State commit Jacob Coleman.

Coleman paced the Bobcats with 21 points.

In the girls’ varsity matchup, the Purple Dragons fell 44-31.

At St. Mary’s-Colgan High School, the Panther boys’ team escaped past Baxter Springs 39-38. Aaron Higginbotham led Colgan with 15 points. Trey White led Baxter Springs with 12.

The girls’ varsity team scored the same amount of total points as the boys team, however it was enough for them to coast to a 39-29 win, powered by 11 points from Kate Radall.

The Girard Trojans captured two blowout victories over Galena. The girls’ varsity earned a 46-21 victory, while the boys’ raced to a 45-29 win.

In a girls’ varsity matchup, Frontenac fell to Parsons 51-47.
