ARMA — Friday is the big reveal of what businessman Larry Black has hidden behind the windows of his Arma storefront.
What used to be Arma’s Drug Store, located at 504 E. Washington in Arma, is now a floral shop called Forever Flowers. There will be an open house of the store from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Now inside are “forever floral arrangements” which are comprised of silk Hydrangeas, Orchids, Lilies and over 100 more flower options in an array of colors.
Black said he decided on silk flowers, rather than real flowers because he wanted to provide “quality flowers that look good and stay good.”
Along with the flowers, customers can pick out a vase or container of choice. Customers may also bring in their own containers for their arrangement.
People can purchase pre-made arrangements or order custom arrangements based on the their preferences.
Professional designers make the arrangements.
Forever Flowers also offers rental services for its arrangements for all events. Black and his team will deliver and set up the arrangements at the event. There are party, wedding and funeral arrangements set up in the store to help customers envision what their event could look like.
People may also rent centerpieces and other decor such as punch bowls and candelabras. According to Black there are many options, lead crystal, antique silver and more.
The shop also provides “high end plastic dinnerware” in various designs for receptions for customers to purchase.
Black said he plans for Forever Flowers to be a “destination shop” for people to come visit from out of town, bringing traffic to Arma where people can also stop by Arma’s other stores and restaurant in downtown Arma.
After Friday, the store’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday and by appointment. People may contact the store at 620-704-3671 or
