PITTSBURG — The St. Mary's-Colgan girls' blew past Northeast 61-20 on Tuesday in round one of the 2A Sub-State tournament.

Colgan, fresh off of winning the CNC league title last week, overwhelmed Northeast in front of the Panther fans, jumping out to a 20-0 lead early in the first quarter.

"Tonight I thought we did a great job of applying pressure on defense." said Colgan forward Cathy Farmer. "It's definitely a great feeling to go out there and play your best in the first game of Sub-State. As we get further the competition will continue to get tougher, so the goal is to keep up this level of play throughout the tournament."
