PITTSBURG — Last week a replica of an old clock, donated to the historic Hotel Stilwell went missing.

The clock which hung on the wall in the lobby for several years has now vanished.

Hotel Stilwell Executive Director Darlene Brown said she is uncertain who could have taken the clock, which she said was donated by the Rinehart family around 1997 when renovations of the hotel took place.

“It’s kinda sad, it was an absolutely beautiful clock,” she said.

Brown said a police report was filed to help search for the clock. Staff has also assisted by contacting antique and pawn shops.

Although it’s not the original clock which hung in the hotel in the 1890s, Brown said it added historical relevance.

People who have any information regarding the missing clock can contact Brown at 620-704-3388 or 620-232-3707.
