GIRARD —  Girard School District Board of Education took the following actions during its regular board meeting on Thursday.

WestRidge Assisted Living Director Dan Duling gave a presentation of the student groups have been going out to WestRidge to do activities with the residents — including art, physical activity games and reading. Student groups come from elementary, middle and high schools. The board was given an update on year of the district’s five year strategic plan. The district has partnered with Girard Medical Center services and the board approved school nurses from the hospital. “This is an opportunity for us to collaborate with our local hospital, we are really excited about that,” USD 248 Superintendent Blaise Bauer said.   The board approved the Girard Middle School 2019-2020 handbooks and the district’s board meeting dates The board also approved several resignations/retirements and employments.
