FRONTENAC — The Frontenac School Board of Education took the following actions during its regular board meeting on Monday.


The board discussed the programming options for the FEMA classrooms. According to the district, adding a fourth high school classroom that is an art room will increase the district cost $400,000 from the initial estimated $1.7 million. This will allow enough shelter space for all current students and faculty with space for future growth if needed.
The Hitting Facility Policy was approved. The policy can be located on the district’s website.
The board of education approved the purchase for a fire alarm panel replacement from C& C Group out of Springfield, Missouri for $55,540.
Another purchase was approved by the board, 180 iPads, 80 Laptops, and cases for each device at a cost of $144,476.35.  The Tisot trust money will be used for $57,896.85, taking the district share to $86,579.50.
The board approved the addition of Advanced Music/Artist Studies to the high school curriculum as an elective.
