ARMA — The Northeast Board of Education took the following actions during its regular board meeting on Monday.
The board of education approved summer hours for offices including the board office. The summer hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting May 20. Hours go back to regular hours Aug. 5.
A new coach was hired for summer weights and a Physical Education Teacher was hired. High School Science Teacher Abbi Huber resigned.
The board approved to trade in an older model van and hang on to the other van and in the near future purchase a couple of other vehicles for district use.
Every year the board goes on an annual walk through of each school facility. According to USD 246 Superintendent of Schools Greg Gorman, the tour helps the board decided what is a priority as far as improving the educational environment. The district recently purchased LED light bulbs for entire district the maintenance will install the lights for the board to see.
The board approved Shorts Trash Service for trash services at the district.
