PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg Family YMCA conducted its annual membership drive in January. Drive workers renewed 162 applications during the month.

“After a one-year hiatus we brought the drive back and it looks to have been successful,” Y Executive Director Mike Moore said. “We are grateful to all of the volunteers for taking time to follow up with members and remind them to renew their membership”.

As a part of the drive, workers were awarded points in various categories. Leading the way were John Mitchelson and Judy Westhoff who earned the most points individually for the memberships they renewed.

The drive consisted of four teams and the team of Shane Peak garnered the most points of any of the teams.

Team members were Captain Shane Peak, team members; Amy Hite, John Mitchelson, Ashley Robinson, Don Orender, Chris Farris, Jeff Elliott, Nancy Tyler and Caleb Farabi. A close second in the team category was the Team of Judy Westhoff. Team members consisted of; Backy McDaniel, Shelly Goomer, Jeff Wilbert, Ron Marrone, Julie Reams, Blake Benson and Brooke Beasley. This year’s co-chairs were Joe Hart and Judy Westhoff.

“My hat is off to all of those who worked the drive. We had a great effort by all the volunteers, we greatly appreciate their support of the Y,” Moore said.
