PITTSBURG — At approximately 7:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, a Pittsburg police officer located a vehicle in the west alleyway of the 700 block of S. Broadway St., which had been reported stolen to the Pittsburg Police Department the night before.

The officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle, who was later determined to be 18-year-old Jax D. Crowe, of Pittsburg. Crowe was detained at that time.

While officers were investigating the stolen vehicle, they observed what they believed to be items of contraband, according to a PPD press release. Further search of the vehicle resulted in several items believed to be methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia being located.

Crowe was subsequently arrested for possession of these items and transported to the Crawford County Jail for booking. Crowe was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, felony theft, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released on $25,000 bond.
