The Early Detections Works program at Crawford County Health Department offers no-cost breast and cervical cancer screening to un-insured women in southeast Kansas who meet program age and income guidelines. In addition to these cancer screenings, we also offer free educational programs and materials to women of all ages.
The Morning Sun, Dillons and Meadowbrook Mall all partnered to host a Pink Bake Sale on October 2, 2015 so that they could kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and chose to donate the benefits to The Early Detection Works program. These monies ensure that we are able to help pay for even more mammograms and it also helps to purchase educational materials relating to breast health.
Early Detection Works staff and Crawford County Health Department would like to thank The Morning Sun staff for all of their hard work, Meadowbrook Mall for hosting the event, Dillons bakery, all who donated baked goods, and October advertisers and newspaper subscribers.
We appreciate the support of our community.
