Brenda Kay Henderson-Parker, 57, of Columbus, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022.
She was born on March 14, 1965, to George and Elizabeth (Allen) Gregeory.
Brenda had a huge heart and poured her love out on everyone she knew. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was a devoted wife and mother. She will leave warm memories to all who knew her as one who spent much of her time cooking and caring for those around her. As a result, over the years, she took in many children to love and nurture. She was kind and compassionate, always known to share her home and a meal with others. She was very involved with the Columbus Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed spending time with the people of her community.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Elizabeth Gregeory, and her late husband, Bill Henderson.
She will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Bruce Parker; sister, Susan Jones, and husband, Michael; sister, Linda; children, Christopher James Adams (fiancé Karina Thompson), Pennie Parker-Hohman, and James Parker; stepchildren, Brian Buckalew, Heather Harvey Richard Parker, Christina Parker, Melissa Parker, and Chris Parker; and honorary children who knew her as "Be-Be", Tasha Dean, Ashley Kuhn, and Kayla James. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and Sally Lamkins, her very close friend who was very much like a sister.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Derfelt Funeral Home in Columbus. Pastor Jim Lewis will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to the family in the care of Derfelt Funeral Home.
