Brenda J. Napier, age 65, of Columbus, Kansas, passed away at 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Brenda was born in Miami, Oklahoma, on July 6, 1957, to Donald Richardson and Barbara Webb. She graduated from Columbus Unified High School with the Class of 1975 and later attended NEO A&M College, where she earned a degree in Computer Science. She worked as a dispatcher for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office before she became disabled in 2000. She enjoyed crocheting, working on crafts, completing puzzle books and jigsaw puzzles, and always liked a challenge. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She was especially fond of "spoiling them, filling them with sugar, and sending them home."
She was united in marriage with Lewis Napier on Dec. 23, 1983, in Columbus. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father, Donald Richardson.
Survivors include three sons, Brant Napier of Springfield, Missouri, David Napier of Altamont, Kansas, and Brad Napier of Girard; one daughter, Chenoa Napier of Columbus, Kansas; her mother, Barbara Frank (Richard) of Columbus, Kansas; one sister, Lorrie Nading (Cliff) of Columbus, Kansas; and 12 grandchildren.
