Cora Swift, 84, of Frontenac, passed away at 6:55 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 at the ComfortCare Homes of Pittsburg.
Cora was born March 2, 1938 in Hays, Kansas, a daughter of Tony and Mary (Roth) Kichler.
She attended school in Girard and graduated from Girard High School.
On Oct. 12, 1956, Cora was united in marriage to Harlen Swift at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Girard, he preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2018.
Cora was employed by Miller’s Professional Imaging for many years. In addition, Cora also owned and operated the Flower Basket and was well known for her flower arrangements for weddings and many other events. She enjoyed shopping and spending time at their home on Grand Lake. As busy as she was Cora always found time to spoil her family and especially, her grandchildren.
Cora is survived by one son, Tony Swift and his wife Anita of Girard, one daughter, Anita Edwards and her husband Kenneth of Frontenac, one grandson, Anthony Swift, one great-grandson, Blake Swift, three granddaughters, McKayla Edwards and her fiancé Kolton Crystal, Stephanie Stewart and her husband Cole, Alanis Swift, and two sisters: Mildred Holloway and Florence Willey.
In addition to her husband, Cora was preceded in death by three brothers, Martin Kichler, Peter Kichler, Arnold Kichler and four sisters: Mary Lentz, Katy Wulf, Anna Price, and Alfrieda Strouse.
Funeral Service for Cora Swift will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Girard with pastor Rick Prideaux officiating. Burial will follow in the Girard Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home after 2 p.m., Tuesday.
