BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Former South Carolina guard MiLaysia Fulwiley is transferring to LSU. Fulwiley announced her decision to join coach Kim Mulkey’s program on Instagram on Friday. The 5-foot-10 sophomore played two seasons at South Carolina, primarily providing a spark off the bench. Fulwiley averaged 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists last season on a team that reached the national championship game before losing to UConn. She averaged nearly identical numbers as a freshman two years ago.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks selected quarterback Jalen Milroe in the third round of the NFL draft. He joins a quarterback room that also includes Sam Darnold, who was signed to a three-year, $100.5 million deal this offseason, as well as Drew Lock. Darnold figures to be the starter, but Milroe’s presence will only bring more intrigue to training camp for the reigning NFC West champions.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Former Georgia and Arizona State quarterback Jaden Rashada is heading to Sacramento State. The well-traveled Rashada announced his latest destination on Instagram Friday. Rashada did not appear in any games for the Bulldogs after spending his freshman season at Arizona State. He started three games for the Sun Devils, throwing for 485 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Rashada initially agreed to play at Miami coming out of high school, then signed a letter of intent to play at Florida. He left the Gators over a failed name, image and likeness deal and later sued coach Billy Napier and the program's top booster.
UNDATED (AP) — The New York Giants traded their way back into the first round and selected Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart with the No. 25 overall pick. After taking Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall, New York acquired the 25th pick from Houston to secure its QB of the future and sent the Texans its second-round pick, a third-rounder this year and a third-round pick in next year’s draft. The Giants signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston last month as free agents but lacked a possible long-term answer at quarterback. Dart was the second QB selected after Cam Ward went No. 1 overall to Tennessee.
