Junior Clifford (J.C.) Braman was born in El Dorado, Kansas, 81 years ago, the son of Clifford and Lavada (Bradley) Braman. J.C. passed away on Oct. 25, 2022 at his residence in Girard, Kansas, surrounded by loved ones.
J.C. graduated from LCHS in 1959 and married Doris Jean (McCarty) of Parsons, Kansas in May of 1961. He was a devoted husband and they shared a long and happy marriage until her passing in 1999. J.C. later met and married Maxine (Long) in 2000 they enjoyed many years of exciting travels together, until her passing in 2018.
J.C. was a farmer/rancher in the Mound Valley, Kansas, area and had a custom harvesting business, which took him from Texas to Montana every harvest season for 19 years. He was his happiest in the cab of a combine harvesting, where he could witness all of God’s beauty. Later in life he enjoyed smoking ribs, fishing, volunteering at the bible print shop, and spending time with his church family. He loved Jesus Christ with all his heart and was the perfect example of childlike faith.
J.C. is survived by his children Brenda Prewitt of Claremore, Oklahoma, Linda Hubbard of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, and Mandy (Kevin) Newberry of Girard, Kansas, Wes (Stacy) Braman of Joplin, Missouri, and Dolly Dickens of Parsons, Kansas; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister Cinda Thompson of Parsons, Kansas, and brother Raymond (Beth) Braman of Dallas, Texas. In addition to his parents, J.C. was preceded in death by an infant son Shawn David, and a grandson Joshua Cody Myers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Nov. 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Girard, Kansas.
