PARSONS, Kan. — The Labette County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a potential scam affecting Southeast Kansas residents this week.

“We were just notified that someone is calling from phone number 512-588-5990 stating that they are from a law firm and they are a deputy with Labette County Sheriff’s Office and that there is going to be a warrant issued for arrest the following day,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post Tuesday.

“Labette County Sheriff’s Office will never call you to tell you that you have a warrant or there is going to be a warrant issued for your arrest!”
