Frontenac javelin thrower Kaden Long and the 4x100 relay of Kayden Chance, Jayden Houghton, Wyatt Frazier and Camden Ishimura set new school records in the 22-team Humboldt Invitational on Thursday.
Long flung the implement 158 feet, 3 inches and the 4x100 finished with a time of 43.63 seconds. The 4x100 ran a second faster than Eureka to claim first place and Long finished third, helping the Raiders win the team title by nearly 40 with their 115 points.
Ishimura finished second in the 100-meter dash in 11.09. Houghton placed fifth in the 200 in 24.24. Long finished fourth in the 400 in 54.35. Alonzo Burke finished second in the 800 in 2:08. Caden Russell placed fifth in the 3,200 in 12:04.
Frazier won the 110 hurdles in 16.41 and Brogan Smith won the 300 hurdles in 43.66. The 4x800 finished second in 9:25.
Caleb Jameson won the pole vault at 12-6, Kruz Pickle finished second at 11-6 and Kyle Sloan took fifth at 10-0. Ethan Merrick won the discus at 147-8. Wyatt Collins finished sixth in the javelin at 149-1 and sixth in the shot put at 43-8. Houghton was third in the shot put at 46-5 and Cooper Jordan fifth at 44-4.
On the girls side, Frontenac finished seventh with 33 points; Eureka won the team title with 70 points.
Kylin Perry won the javelin at 106-10 and finished sixth in the 200 in 28.14. Cera Schenck finished third in the 1,600 in 5:56 and Nora Anderson sixth in 6:29. Schenck also finished third in the 800 in 2:32 and Addison Stanley sixth in 2:38. Ella Blythe placed fourth in the pole vault at 8-6.
ST. MARY'S COLGAN
The Panthers took fifth on the boys side with 31 points, led by sprinter and jumper Klayton Adamson and distance runner Michael Vacek.
Adamson won the long jump with a leap of 22-0 and placed fifth in the 100 in 11.16. Vacek won the 800 in 2:07 and finished second in the 1,600 in 2:07.
The 4x400 finished second in 4:10.
On the girls side, Colgan finished ninth with 29 points, sparked by 20 points from relays.
The 4x800 of Mary Rose Boschee, Alli Karleskint, Katie Paulie and Gillian Wilbert won in 10:42. The 4x400 finished second in 4:10 and the 4x100 finished sixth in 54.93.
Paulie finished second in the 300 hurdles in 52.16. Karleskint placed fifth in the 1,600 in 5:58. Kayla Hutchinson was fifth in the long jump at 15-3/4 and sixth in the 400 in 1:08.
