Aaron Pyle is a hometown kid and he’s proud of his local roots. Born at what was, in 1996, Mt. Carmel Hospital, Aaron grew up in Girard and is a proud Trojan.
Aaron is also a sports fan. He ran track in high school and after graduation elected to run collegiately at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth. Eventually, he transferred to Pittsburg State, where he earned a degree in Communication with a news editorial emphasis and a minor in photography.
Aaron’s career in newspaper writing, which began at the Hometown Girard newspaper,
took advantage of his interest in sports, where he was sportswriter/newswriter/assistant editor. From there, he went to the Cedar County Republican in Stockton, Mo., as an editor, before returning to Kansas in 2021 when the Morning Sun became locally owned.
“I take pride in what I do,” Aaron said. “As a local kid, I like being a voice for the community and feeling that deep connection with the area. I truly enjoy getting to go out in the community, meeting new people or getting to see familiar faces.”
Aaron said he hopes he’s making a positive impact on the community with his work and said he’s been inspired by some of the familiar Morning Sun names from years past.
“I truly revered individuals like JT (Knoll), Nikki (Patrick), Matthew Clark, and many more,” Aaron said. “I wanted to be a part of that, to be a part of something bigger than myself. I wouldn’t trade this job for anything.”
