Detha Nadine McAllister, known lovingly as Nadine, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023, in Joplin, MO.
Born on February 5, 1946, in Columbus, KS, to the late Ralph and Cleo (Voltz) Lammey, Nadine grew up and lived most of her life in Columbus.
Nadine was a known figure in the local food and hospitality industry. She was the previous owner and operator of Lou's BBQ in Columbus for several years. In her later years, Nadine transitioned into a role as a caregiver, offering comfort and companionship to several elderly homebound residents. Her dedication and compassion for others were evident in every aspect of her life.
Nadine was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother and was a dedicated supporter of her grandsons, always present at their sporting events, cheering them on as their biggest fan. She enjoyed live music and dancing and the casino with her close-knit circle of friends listening to the bands. Her love for her family, friends, and those she cared for was always evident, and will be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include her children, Angie Vankam, of Towanda, KS, and Rob McAllister, and his wife, Kiley, of Olathe, KS; and two grandsons, Kelson McAllister, and Kase McAllister, both of Olathe, KS.
In addition to her parents, Nadine was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky McAllister; and siblings, Maurice Lammey, Marvin Lammey, Darlene Vice and Deloria Timmerman.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, beginning at 1:30 p.m until 3:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin.
