Raymond Charles Glaser, 94, of Pittsburg, died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, in Pittsburg, following an illness.
Raymond was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Pittsburg, the son of Raymond Carl and Vivian Ann (Marvin) Glaser. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools. Raymond was later drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War. He later married Melva Deane Miller in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2016. Raymond worked at Dickey Clay in Pittsburg and later at the Parsons Ammunition Plant before retiring in 1991. Raymond was of the Christian faith. He was known as a mentor and influencer in the community, and he was known to help others in need. He enjoyed taking care of his cattle and, most of all, his grandchildren.
Survivors include his son Kelly Glaser and Elaine Guss of Pittsburg; brother, Wayne Glaser and wife Sharon of Cherokee; grandchildren, Rowdy Glaser and wife Alicia of Cherokee, Lacy Aumann and husband Brandon of Pittsburg, and Jenae Whistler of Pittsburg; and great-grandchildren Bryer Glaser, Bailey Glaser, Jamie Hoover, Blake Hoover, Austina Hawkins, and Braxton Brown.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepmother Imogene Glaser, sisters Patty Ann Glaser and Charlene Bower, and brother-in-law Buck Bower.
Graveside Services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery, with Pastor Daryl Gaddy officiating. Military honors will be conducted following graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday.
