Russell Dale "Rusty" Titsworth, 74, of Pittsburg, and a former Parsons resident, passed away at 4:44 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.
He was born on April 19, 1949, at Parsons to Harold and Henrietta (Shields) Titsworth. Rusty grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools graduating from Parsons High School in 1967. He attended Labette Community College, Kansas State Teachers College (Pittsburg State University), and graduated from the Cox Medical Center School of Medical Technology in Springfield with a bachelor's degree in medical technology.
Rusty started his career at a doctor's office in Springfield as a medical technologist until 1988. He then moved to Pittsburg where he continued his career at Mt. Camel Medical Center (Ascension Via Christi Hospital). He retired in 2015 after many years of service.
Rusty and Annette Tanner were united in marriage on September 18, 1971, at the Pleasant Hill Church near Dennis. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, Rusty is survived by his sons, Todd Titsworth of Pittsburg, and Jason Titsworth of Pittsburg; his brother, Scott Titsworth, and his wife, Lynn Harter of Athens, OH; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ted Titsworth.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Springhill Cemetery later.
