SEK students honored by The Teachers College

EMPORIA, Kan. — Emporia State University is congratulating more than 100 students — including three from Southeast Kansas — who received special recognition by The Teachers College at the end of the 2022-23 academic year.

Twenty-four received outstanding student awards and 96 students were honored for achievement of a 3.8 grade point average or higher. Undergraduate and graduate students were honored for excellence in their respective departments. Eleven students received outstanding undergraduate student awards and 13 students received outstanding graduate student awards.

Students from Southeast Kansas who received awards include: Makayla Pearson, of Chanute, recognized for achieving a 3.8 GPA; Deja Kuehn, of Coffeyville, recognized for achieving a 3.8 GPA; and Jeanna Hill, of Fort Scott, recognized for achieving a 3.8 GPA.
