Menus for Pittsburg, Senior Services and Girard seniors
Pittsburg Community Schools USD 250 will provide the Summer Food Service Program for Children, a federally funded program operated nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Child and Nutrition and Wellness Department of the Kansas State Department of Education.
Breakfast and lunch meals will be provided free for children ages 1-18. Adults may eat at a cost of $2.25 for breakfast and $3.25 for lunch.
Meals will be served from June 1-July 31 at Westside Elementary School and Pittsburg Community Middle School, as well as July 6-31 at Meadowlark Elementary School.
Hours will be as follows: Westside, breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon; PCMS, breakfast from 7:30 to 8:309 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Meadowlark, breakfast from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
All meals are served with milk. Breakfast menus for the week of June 22 at Westside and PCMS will be as follows:
Pop Tarts, juice.
Bagel bar, juice.
Lunch menus will be as follows:
Chuck wagon, mixed vegetables, sliced peaches, chocolate chip cookie.
Corn dog, seasoned French fries, California vegetables, mandarin oranges and pineapple tidbits.
Peanut butter and jelly, cheese stick, tossed salad, corn, fresh fruit.
Senior Services Nutrition Center, 3003 N. Joplin, serves lunchtime meals which are open to any person 60 or older.
Participants are asked to make reservations for lunch one day in advance. A donation of $3 per meal is suggested.
All meals are served with milk. The menus for the week of June 22 are as follows:
Sliced roast pork, sweet potatoes, seasoned green beans, cinnamon stewed apples, bread and margarine.
Sloppy Joe on bun, peas and onions, potato salad, cherry crumble.
Ham and beans, coleslaw, orange, cornbread and margarine.
Sliced pork roast, sweet potatoes, seasoned green beans, cinnamon stewed apples, bread and margarine, milk.
Sloppy Joe with bun, peas and onions, potato salad, cherry crumble, milk.
Ham and beans, coleslaw, orange, cornbread with margarine, milk.

Dinner frank with bun, cowboy baked beans, broccoli, sliced apples, milk.
