Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department will have Toddler Time from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lincoln Center.

This is an open gym environment for toddlers aged newborn to 4. There will be play equipment and games for parents and children to do together. Children cannot be left unattended.

Toddler Time will be offered free to participants on Tuesdays and Thursdays through April. Anyone needing additional information may call the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation office at 231-8310.

Kiwanis Club
Pittsburg Kiwanis Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Lane Lord, Pittsburg State University head women’s basketball coach, will present the program.

Greeter will be NaZar Saman and Angela Radell will be cashier. Kathryn George will give the invocation.

GIRARD — Girard USD 248 Board of Education will have a special board meeting to discuss transportation purposes at 4:30 p.m. in the Board of Education office.

Pittsburg Farmers’ Market
Pittsburg Farmers’ Market will have its annual spring meeting at 6 p.m. at the Frontenac school library.

The meeting is designed to update all vendors on the progress of the market, along with proposed rule changes for 2012. Discussions will also be held regarding possible changes to future regulations.

Information will be available for those wishing to become market vendors in 2012. Anyone wishing to volunteer or be involved with the Pittsburg Farmers’ Market in other capacities may also attend.

Pittsburg Farmers’ Market was founded in 2002 to help make fresh, farm-grown produce and handmade goods available to southeast Kansas residents. Sperry-Galligar Audubon
Sperry-Galligar Audubon will meet at 7 p.m. in room 102, Yates Hall, Pittsburg State University.

Sean T. Lynott, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks regional fisheries supervisor, Chanute, will talk about the history of archery in America and the construction of wooden bows. A skilled craftsman of flatbows, Lynott will talk about wood selection and crafting the bow, and will display some of his work during the presentation.

The program will be open to the public. Refreshments will be served and a door prize will be awarded.

Frontenac bingo
Frontenac American Legion Post 43 will sponsor bingo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
