Bands scheduled to play are: Jamie Ortolani, 6 p.m.; Joe and Derek Ragtigan, “Head Change,” 7 p.m.; Jack Gravy Band, 8 p.m.; the Tail Gators, 9 p.m.; Two Mothers Left, 10 p.m.; and Sam Meyer’s “Why Bother,” 11 p.m.

Donations will be accepted at the door, will all donations going to the City of Joplin.

Library programs
Thad Beach, Salina, will perform his new show “Chicken Joe Combs the World” at two area libraries as part of their summer reading programs.

He will be at the Arma Library at 10 a.m. and at the Girard Public Library at 4 p.m. Both shows will be open free to the public, and are suitable for the entire family.

The show takes audiences on a musical journey to all seven continents, with Beach performing tunes from a variety of countries and sharing stories and anecdotes about chickens, roosters and local cultures. He will be performing on his one-of-a-kind limber chicken, handmade especially for the show, along with a washboard, bucket bass, ukulele, guitar, harmonica and various percussion instruments. Those who wish will have an opportunity to try some of the instruments.

Beach was an approved artist on the Kansas Arts Commission Artist on Tour Roster, and is affiliated with numerous other arts organizations, including Kennedy Center through the Lied Center Kansas Art Tech Program, Dana Foundation/Nebraska Arts Council, Arts for Learning, Arts Partners Wichita/Early Childhood Initiative and Accessible Arts.

As the “Songsmith” Beach has conducted residencies in more than 250 schools over the last 24 years across the country. He is currently working on a documentary multi-media performance about the Dust Bowl.

Senior Citizens
Pittsburg Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. for a business session and bingo. June birthdays will be celebrated.

Weight loss program
Rita Dawson, CT, acupuncturist and certified health coach, will discuss the Take Shape for Life Weight Loss program at 5:30 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center.

The program does not use diet pills, and includes free online support, free personal health coach and free support meetings.

Block party
Zion Lutheran Church, Broadway and Jackson, will have a block party with food, games and prizes from 6 to 8 p.m.

Legion bingo
Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host bingo night, open to the public, at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin. The facility is non-smoking.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. Canteen will open at 5:30 p.m., and ticket sales will start at this time. There will be an early bird game at 6:20 p.m., followed by regular bingo. Jackpot is now 51 numbers for $275.
