Albin J. Terlip

Albin J. Terlip, 95, of Frontenac, Kansas, died Thursday, February 2, 2023, at home.

Mr. Terlip was born April 1, 1927, in Cockerill, Kansas, the son of John and Mary Hribar Terlip. Albin was a retired supervisor of the motor pool at Pittsburg State University. He was a resident of Frontenac most of his life. He was raised in Cockerill and attended Cockrill Grade School, later graduating from Frontenac High School with the Class of 1945. 

He loved gardening, wildlife, fishing, hunting, woodworking, cooking, and his dog Mitzie. 

He married Evelyn J. Zibert on June 20, 1953, in Arma, Kansas. Mrs. Terlip preceded him in death on March 14, 2015. 

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Germany with the United States Army. 

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac and the S.N.P.J. Lodge. 

Survivors include a daughter, Laura (Ronnie Bankston) Terlip of Round Rock, Texas; a son, Mark (Judy) Terlip of St. Paul, Kansas; and five grandchildren, Jesse and Jordan Bankston, Allison Terlip Roberts, Kelley Terlip, and Jena Terlip Baskin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; an infant daughter, Gayle; a brother, Paul Terlip; and a sister, Judy Gerwert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Frontenac, Kansas, with Father Robert McElwee as the celebrant. Burial will be at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Frontenac. Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, where the family will receive friends until 7:30 p.m. Ft. Riley Burial Detail will conduct graveside flag folding services. The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
