Donald Ray Rigensberg

Donald Ray Rigensberg, 82, of Pittsburg, died September 30, 2023 at Pittsburg Health and Rehabilitation in Pittsburg, KS.

He was born December 13, 1940, in Ft. Scott, KS the son of Charles and Hattie Benskin Rigensberg. He had been a resident of Pittsburg since 1950. He was a graduate of Pittsburg High School with the class of 1950.

Mr. Rigensberg was a military veteran serving in the US Army.

He married Virginia A. Fenimore on October 20, 1962 in Pittsburg and she survives at the home in Pittsburg, KS.

Mr. Rigensberg worked as a clerk at the US Post Office in Pittsburg, KS, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pittsburg, KS.

Survivors include his wife of the home in Pittsburg; one son, Corbin J. Rigensberg, and his wife Birgit of Pittsburg; one sister, Lora Selby, and her husband Jack of Opolis, KS; five grandchildren, Jessica, Patrick, and Alex, all of Germany, and Eva and Dominik of Pittsburg; four great-grandchildren, Penny and Chelsea of Germany, and Holden and Booker of Pittsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Donnie Ray Rigensberg in 2009.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jim Sukraw and Rev. Kyle Rogers, officiating. Larry Thornberg will sing and play the ukulele for the service. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Mike Dalton, Joe Feagan, Jim Berger, Chuck Selby, Jerry Pendergraft and Doug Brisdine. A memorial has been established in his memory to the Pitt Naz Prime Time group.
