Jimmie Lee Stafford, 93, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on February 17, 2024, at his home in Pittsburg, KS.
Jim was born on August 24, 1930, to Leo and Fern V (Carskaddon) Stafford in Springfield, MO. He graduated from College High School in 1948. On February 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to Mervyl I. Ellis. She survives of the home.
Jim served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954 and was in the Korean War. Jim worked for KOAM TV as a television engineer for 31 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed fly fishing and traveling to Colorado. He was a Life Scout and a Scout Master.
He is survived by his wife Mervyl Stafford of Pittsburg, KS, and one son, Mark Stafford (Kay) of Overland Park, KS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Layne Stafford.
According to Jim's wishes, he has been cremated. A private service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
