It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Pommier, who went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was born on April 12, 1951, in Southeast Kansas to Louis and Katherine (Nepote) Pommier.
Larry was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and husband to Kay Pommier, with seven children, and twenty-one grandchildren, as well as multiple siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Known for his Confucian-style one-liners and comical parables on life; he inspired not only his family and friends but anyone within earshot. His intelligence, ingenuity, and creativity, coupled with stubborn tenacity and an unrelenting drive to succeed, led to a celebrated 40 year career in the mining and construction industries and a lifetime of adventure, laughter, and love. He touched the lives of so many and leaves a lasting legacy for the many who loved him.
A recitation of the Most Holy Rosary, followed by a visitation with the family, will be held Friday, April 26th at 6:00 p.m. at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pommier family scholarship or the Miners Hall Museum; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
Larry will be sorely missed, but the way that he loved, inspired, and led his family will remain with us forever.
May the souls of the faithfully departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.
Services are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.
