Michael Dean Powell, 70, of Arma, Kansas died at 9:33 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Mr. Powell was born January 31, 1953, in Pittsburg, Kansas the son of James Laughery and Louise Coutois Powell. Mike was a retired construction worker who was a lifelong Arma resident. He was raised in Arma and graduated from Northeast High School in the Class of 1971. He later attended automotive school at Pittsburg State University.
He was an avid pool player and loved to play his guitar.
He served in the Army National Guard for 5 years.
Survivors include a sister, Barbara Powell of Arma and a brother, Jimmy (Carla) Powell of Arma, and four nieces, Stefanie (Neal) Wilkins, Courtney Henry Beeler, Shauna (Shane) Shepherd-Hill, and Morgan (Zac) Scales, and eight great nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Louse Powell and a great-nephew, Caden Anderson.
Mr. Powell has been cremated. No services are planned. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
