Timothy James Milburn

Timothy James Milburn, 54, of Girard, passed away at 8:00 a.m., October 3, 2023 at Farlington.

Tim was born June 30, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri, a son of Glenn James and Carol Jean (Davis) Milburn.  He grew up and attended schools in Kansas City and graduated from Hickman-Mills High School.

Tim worked at Pitt Plastics in Pittsburg for 15 years.   He worked at the Corrections Department prior to attending the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, Kansas before becoming a sheriff’s deputy.  He worked at Crawford County Sheriff’s Department for over 18 years.  He also worked for the Girard Police Department.

Tim married Kristie Ann Bauder on December 20, 2001, in Girard and she survives of the home.

Tim was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Kansas City.  He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Kansas Sheriff’s Association.

Tim was a retired assistant chief in the rural fire department district number 4.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and he achieved the Eagle Scout Award.  He was active in summer scouting programs and he was a Runner in the Tribe of Micosay. 

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, playing golf, wood and metal working, cooking and smoking meats.

Survivors, in addition his wife, Kristie, of the home, are his sons, Jayce Milburn of Arcadia and Kyle Bauder, and his fiancé, Brandy Archer, of Girard; his daughters, Whitney Bauder of Pittsburg, Kelsey Walker, and her husband, Brandon, of St. Louis, and Adelyn Martin of Girard; his grandson, Jetson Walker; his father and step-mother, Jim and Frankie Lee Milburn of Kansas City; his brother, Kenneth Lee Milburn, and his wife, Angie, of Raytown, Missouri.

Tim was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Milburn, on December 12, 2019, and his mother, Carrol Jean Milburn.

Services for Timothy James Milburn will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Girard Cemetery with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating.  Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery and burial will follow the services.  Friends may call after 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.

Celebration of Life Services will be at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday in the Angels Among Us Building at the Crawford County Fair Grounds in Girard.
